This song is meant to raise attention to the story itself, not the 'talents' of those singing the song. In the original, by Jimmy Dean, the story is very well brought forward with the baseline used in the background as to speak of this big, lumbering man, as it should be. Your ears are not drawn towards individual singers as they belt out or emphasize their notes. The story is forefront, where it should be. It's too bad that these days things have changed to the point to where important things are... rearranged. Love Jimmy Dean's version best.

Loved your reaction, but i had to chuckle as perhaps someone else might have pointed out, that this is the second time you have reacted to David Phelps. The first one was in response to his fantastic performance of "O Holy Night" in Birmingham in a performance hall, where the choral swell behind him supported him at the end to a very emotional response to most who watch it or witnessed it happening at the time. However, it was performed decades earlier and David looks very different, and it would be easy to think he is not the same person, especially if one might not be familiar with his works. You were similarly blown sway! Great reaction!

Dimash did sing the whole song, but the TV station cut it to fit the schedule. He was the only artist to perform two songs, he sang Golden too its on his channel, he downloaded it at the same time ❤

Dimash loves children. He tries always to make them feel strong, loved and respected. He sang with such harmony and beauty in the concert. It was short as it was his second song and they wanted him to sing with the children.

What Dimash did in this song was impressive: He gave the kids the spotlight! He let them open the song, accommodated themselves to their limitations, led them, played a measured solo, prepared a "bed" for the children to shine and finished by tucking them in! There may be more beautiful, more technical, more touching versions... But no one can dispute that this version warms our hearts and souls through its simplicity and commitment to little ones!
